2024 Golden Week Event Information

Golden Week Period: April 27 ~ May 5, 2024

We have some very interesting night events for you to enjoy such as the water gun fight at the outdoor poolside and the stargazing with a telescope made with a magnifying glass. There will be light traps to catch insects by Dr. Yambaru Mushi and Eisa performances by an Okinawan traditional performing Youth Association as well as live sanshin performances. There will be indoor activities such as a stamp rally and a mystery-solving puzzle game searching for secret hidden treasure in the forest of Yambaru (available in Japanese only). There is something for everyone to enjoy!

Water Gun Game (Free)
Defend yourself from the lit up samurai!

In this game, you will use a water gun to fight off a samurai warrior who will suddenly come towards you with a lit up body! Everyone can continue to shoot at him until all the lights go out.

Telescope Made with a Magnifying Glass & Stargazing
Let's look at the starry sky with a telescope that we have made by ourselves! Regular telescopes are also available for stargazing. You can listen to stories about constellations from a professional guide.

Insect Light Trap (Insect Observation) with Dr. Yambaru Mushi (Free)
Set on a hill and surrounded by greenery, our hotel is a treasure trove of living things. If you set out a night trap, you may find native or introduced species or you may encounter rare insects. A staff member who knows Okinawa insects will tell you about them in an easy-to-understand manner. This is a great opportunity to learn about ecosystems and environmental conservation!

Traditional Eisa (Free)
Traditional Eisa dance is performed by local Youth Associations active in Okinawa. The type of Eisa will be slightly different depending on the region and makes it interesting to watch different groups.

Poolside Live Sanshin Performance (Free)
Listening to the sanshin by the poolside allows you to enjoy an Okinawan evening feeling the night breeze.

Hand Held Fireworks
Fireworks will be sold at the restaurant and at KBC Shop. Guests who purchase them can enjoy using them on the restaurant terrace.

You can enjoy your dinner listening to live music which will include traditional Okinawan folk songs as well as more recent popular tunes.

Ryukyu Dance (Free)
This deeply rooted traditional performing art has been passed down since the Ryukyu Kingdom era. It is performed by Mutsuhana, a group of young professionals. There will be an opportunity for hands-on experience as well.

Stamp Rally (Free)
Use the hints written on the card to find the stamps around the hotel. Kids who collect all the stamps will receive a prize from the front desk. Stamp Rally cards are handed out at check-in for kids age 12 and under.

Bingata Dyeing Experience
Every year we provide space in our hotel for our guests to try their hand at traditional Okinawan crafts. This year everyone can enjoy the Bingata Dyeing experience. You can dye your favorite size bag with your favorite design. It takes from 40 to 60 minutes.

Yagaji Island Honey Experience Lunch Plan
This is an activity in which you can observe bees and beehives in partnership with Okinawa Bee Happy, a bekeeping farm that produces natural honey on Yagaji Island in the northern part of Okinawa Island.
