In Okinawa, winter does not bring the snow seen on the mainland. Yet, when the northern winds blow, the chilly air signals the arrival of the season. Inspired by the contrast between the cold outdoors and the comforting warmth inside, we have captured the essence of a serene, white winter in our afternoon tea. Whether sharing a moment with family and friends or indulging in a treat for yourself, enjoy an early taste of the season's "First Snow."
Your experience begins with "Cervelle de Canut," an interactive savory dish featuring a live "snowfall" presentation. Fresh cheese is infused with aromatic herbs and served alongside a crisp baguette. To complete the creation, guests are invited to sprinkle "Maltosec"—a garlic-infused powdered olive oil crafted to look like powdery snow—over the dish. Watching the white dust softly settle brings to life a snowy winter scene rarely found in Okinawa.
Complementing the savory line-up is our Bay Scallop Tartare, tossed in tartar sauce and brightened with homemade Shikuwasa dressing.
The sweets evoke cozy winter moments with a warm drink in hand. Highlights include the Blancmange au Café, a pristine white dessert infused with whole coffee beans to deliver a surprisingly rich coffee aroma, and the Spiced Ginger Jelly, crafted from a homemade seven-spice syrup that offers a comforting warmth.
To complement the set, enjoy the seasonal "Winter Sun" Chai Latte. Topped with fluffy milk foam reminiscent of gentle winter sunlight, it combines aromatic spices with white chocolate for a creamy, comforting finish.
