2024 Spring Break Event Information
Events that can be enjoyed until 9pm at the heated Garden Pool!

Spring Break Period: March 23 to April 6, 2024

Okinawa is the only place in Japan you can enjoy an outdoor night pool in spring! Our night pool area will feature live sanshin performances, light traps by Dr. Yambaru Mushi, and stargazing. In the heated pool, both kids and adults will receive glow-in-the-dark bracelets, and there will be an area to do hand-held sparklers (limited quantities). In addition, there will be an Easter egg hunt, a stamp rally, and a mystery-solving puzzle game searching for secret hidden treasure in the forest of Yambaru (available in Japanese only). There is something for everyone to enjoy.

Listening to the sanshin by the poolside allows you to enjoy an Okinawan evening feeling the night breeze.

Starry Sky Observation (Free)
In Okinawa, the air is clearer and there are fewer nearby light sources making it easier to see the stars. At this event you can enjoy learning about the constellations from a star guide. They will teach you how to find stars and familiar landmarks in the sky so that you can compare it to what you see in your hometown.

Every Saturday
1. Learn about the starry sky before you actually go stargazing. There will be a talk indoors from a professional.

2. Stargazing at the poolside area using a strong telescope with explanations and guidance from a professional.

Insect Light Trap (Insect Observation) with Dr. Yambaru Mushi (Free)
Set on a hill and surrounded by greenery, our hotel is a treasure trove of living things. If you set out a light trap, you may find native or introduced species or you may encounter rare insects. A staff member who knows Okinawa insects will tell you about them in an easy-to-understand manner. This is a great opportunity to learn about ecosystems and environmental conservation!

Easter Egg Hunt (Free)
If you can find 3 eggs hidden around the Garden Pool area and take a picture, you will get a prize!

Stamp Rally (Free)
Use the hints written on the card to find the stamps around the hotel. Kids who collect all the stamps will receive a prize from the front desk. Stamp Rally cards are handed out at check-in for kids age 12 and under.

Bingata Dyeing Experience
Every year we provide space in our hotel for our guests to try their hand at traditional Okinawan crafts. This year everyone can enjoy the Bingata Dyeing experience. You can dye your favorite size bag with your favorite design. It takes from 40 to 60 minutes.

Learn about wild orchids in Yambaru
A professional instructor who has participated in the Okinawa International Orchid Expo will give an easy-to-understand explanation for kids about the rarity and conseration efforts of wild orchids that grow in Yambaru.

Nago Orchid potted planting experience
Elementary school age children can try it out with staff that are close by to help.
You can take the completed potted plants home or have them shipped cash-on-delivery.

Details

We have partnered with Okinawa Bee Happy, a beekeeping farm that produces natural honey on Yagaji Island in the northern area of Okinawa. We are offering an accommodation plan that includes an opportunity to observe bees and a beehive, savor some all natural honey, experience a workshop with stories and experiences about bees and honey, and eat lunch while watching the beehive.
