Manta & Shark Observation Tour! An opportunity not found at an aquarium.
About 40 minutes by car from Oriental Hotel Okinawa Resort & Spa and close to Churaumi Aquarium, there is a place where you can observe mantas and sharks being raised and fed.
Being able to observe mantas and sharks while listening to the staff talk about these beautiful creatures is a valuable learning experience for both adults and children. The tour is limited to 8 people, a comfortable group size. And since it is less than 10 minutes from the aquarium, it is a convenient stop on the way to Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium.
This is an experience not available at the aquarium!
※This tour is recommended for adults and kids age 5 and above. For safety reasons, we do not allow children ages 0-4 to board the boat even if they are in a baby carrier.
Program: Please note that this tour can be enjoyed by English only speaking guests. The staff will be able to communicate but not give lecture style details.
・ Presentation about Okinawa, Yambaru, and Motobu, the role and mechanism of the tanks, and the creatures bred inside the marine enclosures
・ Observing the creatures in the marine enclosure from a boat
・ Feeding sharks, rays, and fish
・ Manta feeding observation (photos and video allowed)
・ Commemorative photo with the beautiful ocean and Ie Island in the background

Notes
* On the day of your reservation, please go to Motobu-cho Yamakawa Port arriving 15 minutes before the start time.
* If you search for "Manta Ray and Shark Observation Tour" on google maps, the route to the port will be displayed.
* There are no toilets at the meeting place at the Port, so please use the toilet before arriving.
* If the tour is canceled due to bad weather, you will be contacted as soon as possible.
* Depending on the sea conditions during the tour, the boat is expected to rock significantly. Please wear appropriate foot wear (no high heels or dress shoes).
* Sandals can be dangerous as the boat is slippery when wet. Please wear non-slip shoes.
* Raincoats will be provided in case of rain, but your feet may get wet.
* The amount of time on the boat is about 60 minutes. If you are concerned about seasickness, we recommend using anti-seasickness products.
* Depending on the weather or thehealth of the marine animals, the tour may be canceled. In the event of cancelation, you will be able to join the tour on another day valid up to one year. Please check availability.
* When you arrive for the tour, you will be asked to fill out a Tour Application Form, Medical History, and Consent Form. For your own safety, if you have a circulatory system disease (angina, arrhythmia, blood pressure, heart condition) or if you are prone to impaired consciousness due to epilepsy, convulsions, spasms, or attacks or if you are prone to panic attacks or hyperventilation, you will need a doctor's approval to participate in the tour.
