Japan Chinese Cuisine Association Achievement Award to Go Shimabukuro, Oriental Hotel Okinawa Head Chef

We are pleased to announce that our hotel's Chef, Go Shimabukuro, has received the 2025 Achievement Award from the Japan Chinese Cuisine Association.


 

About the Achievement Award

The Achievement Award is presented by the Japan Chinese Cuisine Association to chefs who have made particularly outstanding contributions to the spread and development of Chinese cuisine in Japan and the improvement of food culture.

In the nearly 40 years since the Japan Chinese Cuisine Association was founded, this award has been presented to Chinese chefs and service workers active throughout Japan, and this year, 2025, 40 people from across Japan were given the award.

Award recipients work at renowned hotels and restaurants across Japan, from Hokkaido to Tokyo to Okinawa, with our hotel's Head Chef Go Shimabukuro being the only recipient of the Achievement Award from Okinawa Prefecture.

2013 Certified Nutritional and Medicinal Dietary Specialist
This is a national certification awarded by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Chinese Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Chinese Nutrition and Medicinal Diet Specialty Committee. It is a qualification granted to individuals who have studied the theory of traditional Chinese medicine and the cooking methods of Chinese cuisine, which are rooted in the tradition of "medicine and food from the same source." The purpose of this certification is to contribute to health promotion by maximizing the health benefits of ingredients.
